BenQ’s First-Ever Camcorder Focuses on Smart Functions, Ease-of-Use 3” 16:9 270o Swivel Touch Screen, 1080p, 10M, AutoFocus Lock, Auto Pre-Record
2010-04-23

Australia, March 2010 – BenQ Australia have entered the camcorder market with the launch of their first-ever model. Pocket-sized yet offering Full HD 1080p resolution the fire-engine red DVM1 boasts the smart engineering and intuitive operation that have come to distinguish the BenQ brand globally.

Well-featured and at just $399.00 representing extraordinary value for money, the DVM1 is equipped with Touch AutoFocus Lock and a 3” 16:9 270o-swivel screen for self-shooting ease, Dual Display, and the most interesting inclusion – a 3-Second Auto Pre-Record function to ensure spontaneous moments are never missed.

When this mode is engaged, the Camcorder will continuously record and store three seconds of footage before the actual record button is pressed – that is, 3 seconds of auto pre-recording will automatically be added to your clip. Since there’s often a slight delay in human reaction when pressing “Record” for unplanned moments, this useful function ensures you’ll capture that crucial moment.

Additional features include a Wind Cut option to reduce wind noise, HDMI, Electronic Image Stabilizer, Fade In/Out effects, image gridlines, six lighting modes, and 5X optical zoom.

“With BenQ’s proven expertise in display innovation – in TVs, monitors, digital cameras, and projectors – our entry into the camcorder market is a very natural development,” continued Chung. “This new product line will be yet another manifestation of our commitment to bringing enjoyment and quality to life through outstanding digital devices.”

Touch AutoFocus Lock is easily engaged on the 3” 16:9 touch screen and is designed to prevent the camera from continuing to autofocus while recording. This function is ideal for action shots or scenes where lighting conditions might change during the recorded moment. Selecting AutoFocus Lock keeps whatever focus you have selected consistent throughout your recording, ensuring that the scene is captured exactly as is without the camcorder changing lighting or focus settings on you.

Dual Display enables preview and playback of clips to be shown on both the camcorder screen and on the TV (when connected). Preview and playback are also made versatile with up to 10X digital preview zoom and 8X digital playback zoom.

To ensure that the user isn’t left out of the scene, the Camcorder DVM1 stands out from others in its category with a 270o swivel screen that enables the user to preview himself on the 3” screen while recording. A handy gridline option on the screen also helps users position their subject for still picture taking, ensuring the best 10 megapixel results.

For cool opening and closing effects, users can engage Fade In/Out (available in black or white fade) prior to recording. And to counter the wobbliness of an unsteady hand, an Electronic Image Stabilizer (EIS) function optimizes movie results for Full HD 1080p enjoyment.

The Camcorder DVM1 will retail for $399.00 and will be available in Australia April 2010. For more information, visit www.BenQ.com.au or (02) 8988 8800.
